Tate McRae's "greedy" Proves She's Unafraid to Claim What's Hers

Tate McRae embraces her "greed," and lowkey her Canadian-ness, in her new single and music video "greedy." The single features her tapping into her confidence and detailing a sense of self-love she's fought hard for.

"greedy" is fueled with a plethora of hypnotic beats and sleek, cellophane-laced harmonics, luring us deeper into this tale of modern relationship woe. Infectious and lush soundscapes juxtapose the single's biting lyrics. McRae puts her foot down and tells a man she won't play any games or put up with his insecurity. "I would want myself / Baby, please believe me / I'll put you through hell / Just to know me / So sure of yourself / Baby, don't get greedy / That sh*t won't end well," sings McRae on the song's chorus.

"I'm beyond excited to drop "greedy" and share this new chapter of my music with the world," shared McRae. "I wrote 'greedy' about having the confidence to know what you want. I feel like this is the first time where people are seeing a feistier and more playful side of me. This song is so unexpected, and I cannot wait for everyone to hear it."

The accompanying music video, directed by Aerin Moreno, opens with a clip of McRae in an empty ice rink driving around on a Zamboni. The camera switches to capture the singer bringing the heat on the ice by showing off her dance moves in the locker room, soon joined by dancers who, alongside McRae, deliver killer moves choreographed by Sean Bankhead.

Currently, the singer is on the road for her 'Us Are We Flying Tour'. The journey will be making stops in major cities like New York City, Nashville, Dallas, and Los Angeles before coming to an end at Paramount Theater in Seattle, WA, on Oct. 13.
