Vitesse X Delivers a Dreamy, Otherworldly Project in 'This Infinite'

An earworm of a project, This Infinite, described by Vitesse X as a "somatic release," is pure magic. It’s like capturing lightning in a bottle through a fusion of poetic lyricism and a mesmerizing soundscape. This highly anticipated follow-up to her debut album Us Ephemeral, sees the New York-based DJ dive headfirst into themes of struggle amidst uncertainty. Instead of offering fleeting escapism, she invites listeners to seek release while alchemizing her self-liberation.

The album’s lead single “Eternal” sets the stage for the 12-track project. Transporting us to an otherworldly sonic atmosphere, “Eternal” embraces the softness of dream pop and the intricate texture of shoegaze where both genres shine—guitar-forward, wistful, and nostalgic. Standout tracks on the project also include the cinematic “Careless” and “way i luv,” which pair confessional lyrics with an openhearted delivery that encourages listeners to revisit the project and discover new transcendent vocal nuance and instrumentation with each listen.

This Infinite is a love letter to Vitesse X’s roots in the New York indie scene, an intentional shift from the '90s rave and ambient techno present in her debut album. At its heart, her sophomore effort is unapologetically raw and sure to resonate with listeners through its honest, empathetic lyrics.

A collaborative project that features a stacked list of credits, including co-production with Jack Tatum of Wild Nothing on “Careless” and Finnish pop duo Pearly Drops on “Get in Girls,” the album was mixed by Abe Seiferth and Jorge Elbrecht, mastered by Joe Laporta.
