You Can't Tell Friday Pilots Club Nothing [Q&A]

We sat down with Friday Pilots Club to hear about their latest release, EP1. Read on for the scoop:

OnesToWatch: How is Friday Pilots Club doing?

Friday Pilots Club: Mannnnnnnn shit, we’re okay. Thrivin’ and survivin.

What is your last single all about?

Being stuck in your ways and vehemently against changing.

Any collaborators? Who produced the single?

We kept most of this internal, for a few other songs we did some writing/producing with Chris Lyon but besides that not really.

What's more motivating, internal drive or being told you can’t do it?

Internal drive.

Besides this excellent single what else should we be on the lookout for?

An EP and dramatic changes in sea level.

Take us on a wild night out: where do we go? What do we do?

We go somewhere in wicker park. We gamble everything we have on an illegal poker game and potentially lose our lives. If we survive the poker game we go to the owl or the continental and play pool and drink malort until one of us explodes or falls asleep.

What's inspiring you right now outside of music?

Young people standing up to old and entrenched schools of thought and corrupt systems, so rooted in time and profit that they seem unmovable, starting to shake.

Food group / activity best suited to enjoying your music?

“Italian (give you carbs to burn), and activity would probably be going to an Italian restaurant. Something real nice like Buca Di Beppo

Favorite act(s) or band(s) of all time?

The strokes, AM, Beastie boys, Nina Simone, Jeff Buckley.

Musically who is new but making all the right moves? Who are your current OnesToWatch?

Aubory Bugg, Maggie Miles, Maggie Miles, Maggie Miles, Maggie Miles, Maggie Miles, Joe Biden, Sandra Bullock, Joe DiMaggio.
