This week, Atlanta singer and multi-instrumentalist Asi Kemera returns with her first track of 2021, "honey bb." This single marks Kemera's first release since her 2020 EP Daydream, and today she fortunately provides fans with more of her signature ethereal aesthetic. The release of the "honey bb" single also includes its own video - both featuring guest appearances from Bay Area rapper and producer Seiji Oda. Together, the two artists lend their talents to create a sensual and tranquil track, one that sees Kemera effortlessly singing from both dominant and submissive perspectives.

For fans of blissful and seductive lo-fi tracks, "honey bb" is the single for you. From the soft piano instrumentation to Asi Kemera's diaphanous vocal harmonies, "honey bb" has a unique 90's vaporwave feel that is just as catchy as it is unique. Her aesthetic is amplified by the video, which features her and Seiji Oda dancing in front of an intentionally rudimentary green screen filled with gossamer backgrounds and anime graphics. The track's unique writing and chord structures work in tandem with its angelic ambiance to produce something that feels entirely new. Though this is also partly due to Kemera's influences - coming from rock and R&B as well as Ethiopian and Indian music - it seems more appropriate to attribute her originality to a combination of talent, and ability to actualize her creative ideas musically and visually.

Asi Kemera's "honey bb" is the perfect song to add to your weekly rotation as we begin to usher in the springtime weather and everything else the season has to offer. Stream  "honey bb" below.
