Meet the LA Collective That Is Here '2' CMMND Your Attention

One of the most refreshing feelings is hearing a song that stops you in your tracks and commands your attention. CMMND does just that. Through their combination of soulful new age R&B and lo-fi Bay Area-influenced rap, the LA-based collective is sure to make you feel like you're jamming in the car with them.

Best news yet? They just dropped their new EP, 2. So grab your headphones, hop in and prepare to be launched into the CMMND cosmos, a world of carefree, nostalgic bliss.

In their sophomore EP, the talented crew shows off their range as a group. Following up their bouncy single, "Celica," the seven-song project kicks off with "summer21," a dreamy pop tune marked by a retro '80s synth and kinetic 808s. Next up is "nothins free," an ethereal, spacey R&B tune that floats above a tight drum pattern and saucy bass groove that slides in and out. 2 also features "sum light," driven by gorgeous harp loops and a Bay area-type beat and "far away," which is drowning in melodic ear candy.

Each of the collective's six members bewitchingly blend their individual crafts to create the CMMND galaxy. CMMND consists of three distinctive voices - the airy vocals of seiji oda, the raspy resonance of okay coleman!, and the mellow depth of sleepyboybryan. These three timbres married together with seiji oda and okay coleman!'s luscious production - and some stirring collaboration affairs - fill the full sonic world. The visual CMMND frequency is transcended by creative director Karl Perkins, lead designer Bamidele, photographer/videographer Syd, and graphic designer sleepyboybryan.

The beauty of a collective is in creating community, and CMMND is fostering an immersive one surrounding their smooth music drops, from transformative visuals to seasonal apparel collections, including the revival of UCLA merch. So if you're on board, hop in the CMMND Celica and brace for blast off.
