Could Gabrielle Aplin's "Nothing Really Matters" Be Her Most Significant Song to Date?

With a title like "Nothing Really Matters," it is easy to jump to conclusions, but let her finish. With a little trust, patience, and the addition of the lyrics "but you," the sun is suddenly shining over the British singer and lovers of pop music can let out a collective sigh of relief. That said, you will never be able to enjoy clear sunny skies without having experienced scattered clouds, and such is the case here. Aplin spoke on the sun-soaked  new track, sharing,

"'Nothing Really Matters' is about the battle between the excitement of wanting to open up, and the fear of opening up. I was having one of those days where I questioned the validity and importance of everything around me, and how much time, energy and thought I gave to things that really didn't matter. It's about focusing on what's really important to you."

I'm going to go out on a limb and say these feeling are all too relatable. Fortunately for us fans, with Aplin pushing herself vocally, challenging the way she thinks about song structure, experimenting with lyrics, it comes down to honesty with your artistry-an easy motto of integrity to live by. Not only as an artist, but a listener.

Turn of phrase is a beautiful thing and in a musical landscape that's often frustratingly predictable, this smash will surprise and delight you. Check it out, below!
