LANY Release "good guys," the First Taste of Third Album 'Mama's Boy'

In 2018, LANY broke our hearts with their emotionally-laden sophomore album, Malibu Nights. Accentuated by more restrained soundscapes and introspective songwriting, the acclaimed portrait of love, heartbreak, grief, and eventual acceptance showed off a more vulnerable side to the band. Now, after the dust has settled and our hearts have begun to mend, LANY is back with "good guys."

"good guys" arrives as the first taste of the trio's highly-anticipated third studio album, Mama's Boy, which is expected to release later this year. As frontman Paul Jason Klein puts it in a sweet and simple tweet, "broke our hearts making malibu nights broke our backs making mama's boy.

Yet, that is not to say LANY has moved past their emotionally-driven, synth-laden trademark sound. While the trio certainly picks up the pace in "good guys," creating a euphoric whirlwind blend of acoustic instrumentation and electronic production, LANY cannot help but write songs that speak to the heart.

At its core, "good guys" is an ode to doing all the right things for the wrong person. Blending themes of self-doubt and self-sabotage with an unshakable longing, LANY's first glance at their third studio album already has us completely in our feels.

In addition to the new single, "good guys" arrives hand in hand with a cinematic music video that features none other than Klein striving to be the perfect "Southern gentleman."
