NIKI's "Indigo" Has Us Believing in an Eternal Hot Girl Summer

NIKI is the undisputed queen of 88rising. The first female artist signed to the "hybrid management, record label, video production, and marketing company" that is giving a mainstream platform to Asian voices and beyond, it comes as no surprise to discover NIKI has one hell of a voice. It is a noted gift she reminds us throughout every second of her latest sweltering track.

"Indigo" arrives as the first taste of new music from 88rising's rising star, following the release of her sophomore EP wanna take this downtown? earlier this year. Not missing a beat, "Indigo" sees NIKI falling immediately in step with her irresistible blend of pop-flavored neo-R&B. Practically floating across an array of buoyant production, NIKI explores themes of temptation and inhibition with a vocal grace that sways between light as air and impossible to ignore. The entire affair plays out like a siren's call of the most delectable variety.

As if you needed any more reason to listen to "Indigo" on repeat beyond the fact alone that NIKI is making her mark on hot girl summer, the new single also doubles as the lead single from 88rising's highly-anticipated crew album Head In The Clouds II. Executive produced by Joji, the follow-up to last year's Head In The Clouds is set to feature the entirety of the 88rising crew doing what they do best - dominating charts and playlists.

Truth be told, we would not be surprised if "Indigo" ends up doing the same. Cause in spite of fall's rapid approach and the waning of our priceless summer days, NIKI has us believing that hot girl summer is an eternal vibe.
