Aside from a handful of singles and guest appearances on tracks with dvsn and Giveon over the last two years, Snoh Aalegra has apparently been keeping her main artistic focus behind the scenes, culminating in the release of her new album  TEMPORARY HIGHS IN THE VIOLET SKIES.

On Snoh Aalegra's previous project,  Ugh, Those Feels Again, we were treated to over a dozen tracks that took inspiration from R&B and rap, forging a sound that Aalegra described as "cinematic soul." On  TEMPORARY HIGHS IN THE VIOLET SKIES, Aalegra returns with an almost enviable elegance. Joined by artists like Tyler, the Creator and the legendary James Fauntleroy, she delivers fans a painstakingly-honed sound that sounds like she hasn't taken a day off since 2019.

For fans both old and new, TEMPORARY HIGHS IN THE VIOLET SKIES is the defining Aalegra record that many have anticipated since her debut Feels released almost half a decade ago. Aalegra's unique and infectious soul-meets-R&B sound is amplified not only by her insane vocal ability but also her natural affinity for clever songwriting and signature charm. Whether she's reveling in the saccharine and euphoric bliss of romance or wrestling with feelings of self doubt or love-fueled insecurity, Aalegra never fails to deliver.

In addition to Aalegra's perfected-vocal style, TEMPORARY HIGHS IN THE VIOLET SKIES also features some of the most fine-tuned mixes of her entire career. The Neptunes-produced "IN YOUR EYES" sounds exactly how you may expect - bouncy low ends, rhythmic vocal samples, and dreamy synth tracks that mesh beautifully with a  "cinematic soul" stylistic twist. Aalegra works with producers both familiar and new; No I.D. and Johan Lenox's handiwork is just as detectable as Christian Rich and Swagg R'Celious'. Even the listless and hypnotic mix that Tyler, The Creator provides on "IN THE MOMENT" sounds like a melancholic boat ride through the inner workings of Aalegra's creative center.

Though time has produced a significant gap since Aalegra's last project, it would be a severe understatement to say that TEMPORARY HIGHS IN THE VIOLET SKIES was well worth the wait. Aalegra's envious vocal ability has once again proven itself to be at the top of its game, as every track's meticulously-polished mix serves as the perfect foundation for her to grace fans with something equally beautiful and genre-pushing.
