Aidan Bissett finds himself falling into one-sided infatuation in his latest single, "Planet." Written with producer Captain Cuts and singer-songwriter Sophie Cates, the new track is overflowing with pop-infused instrumentation that hooks the listener and invests them in Bissett's story, reminding them that inspiration often comes when you least expect it.

Opening with a warm, catchy collection of driving percussion and thrumming bass and guitar riffs, Bissett describes meeting an aloof, out-of-this-world woman. He croons over the vibrant production, "Strawberry hair and dirty mind / I shoulda read the warning signs / She's in the sky, I'm hypnotized." As the sonics around him begin to swell, he wonders why his love interest is so distant and finds himself overthinking and freaking out due to his inability to "pin you down."

On the choruses, Bissett's rich vocals soar in and out of heart-melting falsettos, lamenting his heartbreak over a crush who doesn't give him the time of day. He belts over the erupting arrangement, "I'm wastin my time / I'm starting to panic / I can't read her mind I guess / She's not from this planet." "I got ghosted – but got this song out of it," the artist recalled while talking about the inspiration behind the track.

"Planet" leads off the deluxe edition of his Supernova EP. The newly released collection includes fan-favorite tracks like "Bloom" and "Out Of My League," the latter of which is an uptempo banger that showcases how self-doubt can come into play when meeting someone special. "It's the story of the inner battle that shows the highs and lows of an initial connection," shares the artist.
