Almondmilkhunni is an artist whose music is as delectable as her namesake. Delivering dreamlike R&B drizzled with a '90s throwback vibe, the singer, songwriter, and college dropout triple threat is steadily establishing herself as a name to watch.

For a tantalizing crash course on the rising R&B sensation, you need to look no further than her self-titled debut EP, released earlier this year, which included standout singles "Henni Heartbreak" and "Grapefruit," as well as spawning the "Cherry" remix with none other than fellow up-and-comer Flo Milli.

And yet, the praiseworthy debut EP seems to have only laid the blueprint for what is to come. With the release of  "damnboy," Almondmilkhunni's latest single builds on her early promise to present an irresistible R&B vision that is ready to take the world by storm.

From its entrancing start to unexpected alternative rock-referencing finish, "damnboy" is draped in a euphoric range of sonics. Almondmilkhunni's light-as-air vocal acrobatics float across an undercurrent of nostalgic R&B production, bringing to life a captivating picture of unadulterated love - free of gender binaries - and female-driven bravado. Almondmilkhunni spoke further on the video, which is premiering here today, sharing,

"'damnboy' is just my experience as a bisexual woman and I thought it was cool to have lyrics about a boy but to make the video with a female love interest. As an artist, I want to show more about who I actually am in my personal life, and I can love a person no matter their gender identity."

The effect is elevated all the further in the accompanying video, which features a leather-clad Almondmilkuhnni and her ride or die taking a road trip for the ages. Directed by Tyler Lee, cash, moments of affection and celebration stolen between motel rooms, and a high-speed trek through the California desert fuels a multi-faceted portrait of Almondmilkhunni as an enviable R&B artist unafraid to play with themes of sexuality and gender identity. The exact kind of artist we need in 2020 and beyond.
