Cal in Red Unveil a Lulling, Luminous EP With 'On The Dance Floor'

A shimmering six-track body of work bursting with nostalgia, sibling pair Cal in Red have concocted an effortlessly, soothing EP with On The Dance Floor. Each warm track illuminates vast color and creativity. The release focuses on the subject matter of aspirations and goals, as well as deep-seated worry and apprehension.

Opening with “Corvette” the glistening, golden single is a reflective narration of aspiration versus obsession. The tune instantly submerges the listener with driving guitars, bright beats, and captivating vocals. It takes you on a ride you won’t want to get off. Inspired by their grandfather’s 1975 Stingray Corvette, the indie pop track emanates rich, vintage vibes. The visuals also provide that same allure, featuring the car in the music video.

With “Replay (Lounge),” the duo was inspired by a tour stop in Lawrence, Kansas to write a song all about camaraderie and new friendships found on the road. Featuring floating melodies, shiny guitar riffs, and their signature layered melodies, “Replay (Lounge)” is a mesmerizing ode to loyalty and connection. While “With Your Hands“ is a sunny pop paradise that oozes with a retro flavor. Closing things off with “Can I Call You Tonight/Quarterback” the dynamic duo takes two intoxicating songs and meld them into one mind-bending offering. The radiant release is a seamless union of “Can I Call You Tonight” by Dayglow and “Quarterback” by Wallows. It’s a one-of-a-kind end to the vibrant EP.

Cal in Red is a duo designing music that calms with a comforting pop/rock sound. The Grand Rapids-based brothers Connor and Kendall Wright chose the band’s title based on their younger brother Cal’s love of red. Fans can connect with their genuine openness and authenticity, a quality that is on full display in this delicate and dazzling creation.
