Indie darling Holly Humberstone is back with another cry-inducing love song with the release of "Kissing In Swimming Pools." The song is the latest glimpse at her highly anticipated debut album, Paint My Bedroom Black, set to release October 13. The new single arrives as yet another display of Humberstone's continued talent for juxtaposing ubiquitous experiences with powerfully personal writing, creating a profoundly moving anthem anyone can relate to.

The cinematic love song opens with the gentle strumming of an acoustic guitar, luring us into the English singer-songwriter's cozy vocals. She comes clean, revealing to listeners how she pines for the one who has captured her heart. While the instrumentation slowly builds as she pours her heart out, she reflects on her desire for an authentic, unpretentious, and deeply intimate relationship. As the song continues, led by a collection of warm guitar riffs, rich bass plucks, and soft percussion that sounds like the embodiment of being wrapped under the covers while it rains, the lyrics depict an emotional connection that transcends shallow trappings, favoring profound, shared moments and openness.

"Kissing In Swimming Pools" is the latest in a string of incredibly crafted singles from Humberstone, including the double A-side singles "Antichrist" and "Room Service" and the upbeat "Into Your Room," all of which build out the personal yet universal world the rising star is crafting ahead of her debut album. Earlier this summer, the rising artist also released her track "Superbloodmoon," featuring fellow breakout singer and songwriter d4vd. The pair wrote and recorded the song in a few hours, imagining two people staring at the extraordinary lunar eclipse from opposite sides of the world.
