MAY-A Enters a Bold New Era With the Addicting "Sweat You Out My System"

Rising pop singer-songwriter MAY-A launches the beginning of a new era with the release of her explosive single, "Sweat You Out My System." The track heralds a new chapter for the rising artist, seeing her continue to examine and vulnerably share her experiences while experimenting with an edgier, more volatile sound.
"Sweat You Out My System" is carried by punchy, sultry instrumentation that perfectly compliments MAY-A's bold and raspy vocals. The biting lyrics explore what it's like to be completely addicted to someone who doesn't love you back. She sings, "Missing you like a little kid / Waiting for you to get back / I wish for you in my veins / So addicted it's insane," while tension-filled guitar riffs and percussion build into an explosive and catchy chorus.
"Writing 'Sweat You Out My System' felt like it opened so many doors in my brain to other types of music I'm excited to make," shares MAY-A. "A structured collage of rap-style moments, guitar riffs, yelling, and hooks... The whole song stays on theme of the feeling of trying to 'quit' someone (hence- sweating them out like drugs) because fuck going back!"
The music video, directed by Andy Deluca and Sarah Eiseman, is a complete vibe, featuring highly stylized clips that follow the singer around Sydney. Viewers watch MAY-A as she sings from the rooftops about someone she desperately wants out of her system, while in other scenes, we see her roam the city and sing to the camera in aesthetically pleasing neon-lit rooms.
"Sweat You Out My System" follows an insanely successful 2022 for MAY-A. Not only did she earn praise for her ARIA Award-nominated collaboration with Australian electronic superstar Flume, "Say Nothing," but she joined Flume at Coachella, Governors Ball, and on his sold-out US and Australian headline tours to perform the lauded single. The artist also revealed her own stripped-down, lo-fi rendition of "Say Nothing (MAY-A's Version)" in June of 2022. Currently, MAY-A is serving as a special guest alongside Wallows on the UK/EU leg of their landmark 'Tell Me That It's Over' World Tour.
