Pop Star Carly Rose Is Making a Break for the Industry with Her "getaway car" [PREMIERE]

All good things must come to an end…or at least they used to.

Carly Rose is back and changing the game with another charming single, “getaway car” just months after the June 19 release of her breakout track, “birds & bees.” Since her first premiere here on Ones to Watch, the accomplished vocalist has been featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and received her own print feature in the Los Angeles Times. Since placing 2nd on X-Factor at the ripe age of 12, New York native Carly Rose has truly been setting an enormous stage for herself.

Rose chose to dedicate herself to growing and cultivating as an artist, as opposed to immediately jumping into the music industry. After hearing "birds & bees," it became instantly clear to many that the time off truly spring-boarded her well-past any typical pop-star. She is currently working on new music with the likes of Dylan William (Halsey, Bea Miller) and Zach Nicita (Anne-Marie, MS. MR, VERITÉ) and will be dropping more and more singles throughout the rest of the year. Needless to say, the incredulous actress, singer, and songwriter is marking her place in the clouds.

“getaway car” takes her powerful, intoxicating vocals and blends them with unapologetically authentic lyrics in front of a sunny pop beat. The song’s optimistic tone reflects the sense of wavering enthusiasm that tends to come with being supportive of someone who just isn’t willing to move forward.

Carly exclusively shared,

"'getaway car' is a song about hopelessly wanting to save someone who doesn't necessarily want to be saved - or just isn't ready yet. You tell yourself "I can't compete with your demons but I'll sure as hell try! I'd go to the ends of the earth for you, but at the rate we're going...I don't see us making it there."
