VIAL Hit Hard On Brash New Single "Falling Short" | THE NOISE
Minneapolis-based indie pop punk band VIAL celebrates the announcement of their upcoming album burnout with the release of their latest single, "falling short." The powerhouse DIY trio seamlessly blends indie rock and punk to create a track full of soaring melodic hooks ready to sink teeth into all listeners alike.
Despite its 90-second run time, the anthemic fourth single from the band's upcoming LP rips deep with its crashing percussion, angsty guitar riffs, and thrumming bass lines. Singer KT Branscom's fiery and emotive vocals deliver hard-hitting lines like "You say you're not sure no more/ You seem so underwhelmed and," and "You're the type to sometimes make me feel like I am losing touch, and/ Maybe I could dwell on it or maybe I could just be getting over it, so." This leads to the arena-sized chorus that encourages us all to scream at the top of our lungs, "Whatever!/ I don't care anymore!"
The accompanying music video, directed drummer by Katie Fischer, is a high-energy visual that shows the band giving a dynamic performance of the track at a house show. In a sweaty basement surrounded by fans, family, and friends, the trio gives their all to the performance, making viewers wish they could join the fun and get in the mosh pit.
The forthcoming highly anticipated album also includes recent releases "ur dad," a brat-punk anthem with a storyline that plays out like a gender-flipped "Stacy's Mom"; "just fine," a caffeinated power pop ode to being okay with feeling not good but fine; and "therapy pt. iii," a mock therapy session interlude track. The insatiable hunger for VIAL's fresh genre blend will be satisfied with a steaming-hot sophomore record in 2024.
