Noa Kirel is no stranger to the limelight. The 20-year-old artist may be new to our pages, but she's certainly not lacking when it comes to accolades. Dubbed as "Israel's biggest pop star" by The Hollywood Reporter, the dynamic singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress is looking to transform that title into the world's biggest pop star with the release of her debut English single.

"Please Don't Suck" is pristine, anthemic pop at its finest. Opening on an interpolation of The Chordettes' "Mr. Sandman," Kirel sets no time in delivering one of the most infectious hooks of the year, singing, "Please don't suck / Cause I've been let down enough." The titular earworm of a plea takes on a new life given the past year we've all gone through, elevating the affair from tried-and-true relationship woes to a universal call to make sure that at least the latter half of 2021... well, doesn't suck.

Kirel spoke further on the release of her debut English single, sharing, “I’m very excited to release ‘Please Don’t Suck’ as my first global single. This song is about the little things that can make or break our year or relationships! I hope we can look back and find some joy and laughter in it all and push forward to a year full of positivity after 2020 sucked. Enjoy!”

As for whether or not this year will be "our year," only time will tell, but one thing is certain. With the release of the effortlessly iridescent "Please Don't Suck," Kirel has laid the groundwork to make 2021 not just her year but the year  of her global pop breakthrough.
