Two years may have felt like an eternity, but Wallows is FINALLY back with their first release since their incredibly impactful sophomore album Tell Me That It's Over. The new single, "Your Apartment," is a fast-paced, introspective effort that sparks their next era, with Wallows pushing their melodic appetite to the forefront. A punchy, catchy, and oddly nostalgic moment of indie pop songwriting, it was pieced together alongside Nate Mercereau and produced by long-time collaborator John Congleton.

Opening with racing percussion and earworm guitar riffs, keys, and bass lines, lead singer Dylan Minnette's rich vocals reflect on the last night he went over to his former flame's apartment. He croons over the intensifying production, "There's a lot of things that I could tell you / But some things are left better if you never knew," remedying himself with a nightcap to shut himself up and prevent a potential argument.

With the aid of vocals from fellow band member Braeden Lemasters, the punchy chorus sees Minette belt heartwrenching lines about the aftermath of the breakup. He clarifies that they both let go of the relationship together and that the breakup affected him deeply despite what their ex believes.

"We're so excited and eager to be releasing music for the first time in nearly two years," the band shares. "It's the longest we've been silent, and it feels good to finally be back. This is the first song from our new album that fully came together lyrically quite some time ago now, so it feels right that it gets heard first."

The accompanying music video, directed by Nina Ljeti, is an equally entrancing effort that opens with Minnette sitting alone in a photo studio. Various light displays shine on the downcast singer, focusing on his emotional performance throughout the continuous shot. As the camera zooms out, his bandmates are revealed to be playing alongside him, eventually leaving his side to wallow alone in the dark when the song ends.

In addition to their latest single release, Wallows celebrates a monumental achievement as their hit single "Are You Bored Yet? (Feat. Clairo)" recently achieved triple Platinum certification in the United States. Originally featured on their debut album Nothing Happens (which has also been certified Gold), the song continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, amassing Gold/Platinum certifications in over 10 other countries.
